3 Days Mount Elgon Tours : This 3 Days Mount Elgon tours leads you to Eastern side of Uganda where you will experience in mountain climbing adventure on the fourth highest mountain that stands heights of 4,320 meters, to access to the peak requires a maximum of 4 to 5 days. Although, the 3Days Mount Elgon Safaris takes you to the slopes of the mountain and visit to Sipi falls.

This trip starts from Kampala via Jinja and ends in Kampala or Entebbe depending on your schedule. The driving journey takes you through Mabira then Jinja which is the source of River Nile town; take the junction that branches off the route to Busia and the journey is so impressive with great views of the scenic landscape, Mabira forest, tea and sugar plantation in Lugazi and Jinja, Jinja bridge on the Nile River, Lake Victoria and the people of the land. The drive from Kampala to Mbale /Sironko districts and the returns, takes about 5 to 6 hours.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mount Elgon National Park – Sipi Falls

Depending on your location, our driver guide will pick you up and start the journey to Mbale with en –route views of the scenic landscape and the rewarding plantation and Lake Victoria.

You will have lunch in Mbale town before you proceed to Kapchorwa where you will visit a beautiful Sipi falls taking about 2-3 hours on the Zig-zag road to the hill. You will visit a Sipi fall office, get a local guide who will guide you to the Sipi falls.

There are 3 levels of Sipi falls known as the highest fall being at 100 meters, second at 85 meters and ranks the third falls at 75 meters. Depending on the time, you may visit all of the falls on the same day. Drive back where you will meet your driver to connect to your accommodation. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Hike Mount Elgon

After morning delicious breakfast, transfer to the park headquarter and take the short drive Kapkway Exploration Centre with your packed lunch and trekking gears. You will meet your ranger guides and porters to lead you through the trail.

You will hike through the montane and bamboo forest with amazing sights of different bird species, animals, Chebonet falls, Kapkwai caves and this hike has short trails of about 3km and 11km. After hiking experience in the evening, you will meet by your guide and connect to Mbale town. The journey estimates 1-2 hours through the rewarding roads. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Return to Kampala /Departure

After morning breakfast followed by the check-out of the hotel. Then embark on your journey back to Kampala with en-route stop in Jinja to visit the source of the Nile and lunch before you continue to Kampala. You will be dropped off at your Hotel or at the Entebbe Airport for your late evening flight departure.
