Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then set off the journey to Kibale National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and on the way you will enjoy astonishing views of the local people, farmlands, traditional homesteads, Rwenzori Mountains, and tea plantations among others. You will have en-route lunch in the beautiful town of Fort Portal and then continue the journey to Kibale National Park. Arrive and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpundu lodge-luxury/ Isunga Lodge- Budget or Chimpanzee guest house- Midrange

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale National Park and Bigodi swamp walk
Chimpanzee trekking,
Enjoy an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to be dropped at Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing about the rules and regulations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek with and a park guide who will lead you through the forest trailhead to look for chimpanzees.
Chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their movement in the forest because they move a lot from one place to another in search of food. On finding them, you will spend an hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you a great opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, and behaviors, watch them feed, enjoy the juveniles playing up in the trees, take memorable photo shoots as well capturing videos for your future remembrance. After the one-hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will descend back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and connect to the lodge for lunch.
Bigodi swamp walk
After lunch, you will embark on an interesting guided nature walk in the Bigodi swamp where you will be able to view different primate species, birds, mammals, plant and tree species among others. After the swamp walk, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the third day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will have a yummy breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to travel to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have an en-route lunch and enjoy gorgeous views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, crater lakes many others. Upon arrival, you will check into your booked accommodation to relax. Have dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma lodge-luxury/ Buhoma Haven lodge-midrange or Buhoma community rest camp-budget.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
Gorilla trekking,
Wake up early and have morning breakfast on the fourth day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will be allocated to a habituated gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with different gorilla trails. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another looking for food.
During trekking, you will enjoy rewarding views of primates like l’hoest monkeys, vervet monkeys, animals like bush pigs, forest elephants, plants, bird species like a strange weaver, Rwenzori batis, Chapin’s flycatcher, handsome francolin mentioned but few. Once the gorillas are allocated you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you hilarious experience to learn more about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, playing, enjoy taking photographs and recording the moments to show people back home. After the fun moment with the gentle giant, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to connect to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 5 days Uganda gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to depart back to Kampala. On the way you will have a stopover in Mbarara town for lunch where after you will proceed the journey with another stopover at the Equator to take memorable photos and buy souvenirs. From the Equator you will proceed to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight or to be dropped off at your hotel.
