7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Birding Tour
This 7 Days Uganda Gorilla Trekking and Birding Tour is an ultimate safari tour package leading you to a combine Uganda safari destination of Mountain gorilla trekking ‘’Bwindi Impenetrable National Park’’ and birding watching in Mabamba swamp location in Entebbe just 20minutes drive from Entebbe International Airport.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
Depending on your location in Entebbe on the first day of the safari, our driver guide will pick you up, brief you about the safari and then travel back to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. On the way you will have a stopover for en-route lunch where after you will continue the journey with thrilling views of the countryside, beautiful landscapes, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands, plantations and others. Arrive at the park early evening, check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in forest trail head which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the mountain gorillas are found. During trekking you will be able to view other primates, mammals, different bird species, plant and tree species and more. Once the gorilla family is found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat as you get to learn about them.
After the exciting moment with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarter to receive your gorilla certificate. After, you can go meet up with your driver guide to go for an optional of cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the batwa people, learn about their culture, tradition, visit their homesteads, listen to their ancient stories, enjoy their traditional performances many more. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Birding in Bwindi national park
After an early breakfast, carry your packed lunch boxes and meet up with your driver guide to go for birding in the forest where you will spot for different bird species such as blue headed sunbird, African blue flycatcher, double toothed barbet, ross’s turaco, African dusky flycatcher, black bee-eater, Ruwenzori batis, white-throated greenbul and others. After birding, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Lake Mburo national park-afternoon boat cruise
You will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to drive to Lake Mburo National Park and upon arrival you will check into the lodge and have delicious lunch.
After lunch, you will go for rewarding boat cruise on Lake Mburo which gives you great view of animals such as buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes drinking water along the shores of the lake, hippos and crocodiles in water and water birds like cormorants, kingfishers, fish eagles among others. The boat ride takes about 2 hours and after you will drive back to the lodge, have dinner and overnight stay at Kigarama wilderness lodge-midrange/ Eagles nest lodge-budget.

Day 5: Walking safari/birding and transfer to Entebbe
Enjoy breakfast, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a walking safari/birding with an experienced park guide where you will be able to view some of the animals at a close range, view different bird species like red billed wood hope, black shouldered cuckoo shrike, brown chested plover, coqui francolin, take beautiful pictures among others.
After the walking safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Entebbe. On the way you will have en-route lunch and a stopover at the Equator where you will take photos, buy souvenirs among others. From the Equator, you will continue to Entebbe where you will arrive early evening and upon arrival you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Nkima forest lodge

Day 6: Full day Birding excursion at Mabamba wetland
After breakfast, our safari driver will pick you up from your lodge with your packed lunch to go for bird watching in Mabamba swamp. Mabamba swamp lies around the shores of Lake Victoria and is one of the Uganda’s birding sites that offers perfect birding experience and viewing different bird species. This site is also one of the few places in Uganda where there are memorable chances to watch the unique shoebill stork. You will take a canoe ride at Mabamba where you will get closer to different various bird species that reside here. You may also see the rare shoebill stork and other bird species. After the birding excursion, you will return back to the hotel for dinner and overnight stay at Nkima forest lodge

Day 7: Full day Birding excursion at Mabamba wetland and transfer to Entebbe
After breakfast on the last day of the safari, our safari driver will pick you up from your lodge to go for another birding excursion in Mabamba wetland where you will be able to view numerous bird species that you might have missed the previous day. After the birding excursion, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch where after you will spend the rest of the day at leisure, dinner and overnight, later in the morning, the hotel representative will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your onward flight.
