Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Murchison Falls National Park
Depending on your location on day 1 of the 9 Days Classic Uganda Safari Tour, you will be welcomed by our professional driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then set off to Murchison Falls National Park which is the largest and oldest national park in Uganda. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and on the way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for rhino tracking where you will continue the journey with another stopover in Masindi town for lunch. After lunch, you will continue to Murchison Falls National Park and on arrival you will drive directly to the top of the falls where you will be able to view the waterfall, enjoy water splashes many more. From the waterfall, you will drive to check into your booked lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Nile Safari Lodge – Luxury, Pakuba safari lodge-midrange or Parkside safari lodge-budget

Day 2: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast on day 2 of the 9 days classic Uganda safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to head for a morning game drive where you will be able to spot a number of animal species such as giraffes, buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs, Jackson’s hartebeest among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will head for an impressive boat cruise to the bottom of the falls where you will be able to watch animals such as elephants, antelopes, and buffaloes which will be drinking water along the shores, watch the school of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, view aquatic bird species such as hornbills, cormorants, kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles among others. After the gorgeous boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast on day 3 of the 9 days Classic Uganda safari tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale Forest National Park. On the way, you will have an en-route lunch and enjoy impressive views of the beautiful scenery, landscape, tea plantation, Rwenzori Mountains, views of crater lakes many more. Upon arrival in Kibale National Park, you will continue to check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kibale Tourist Safari Lodge -midrange or Isunga lodge-budget.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
After an early breakfast on day 4 of the 9 days classic Uganda safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to drive you to the Kanyachu park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest trails in the look of chimpanzees. The trekking experience can last about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located and during chimpanzee trekking, you will be rewarded with views of other primates such as l’hoest monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet monkeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked Mangabey, views of different bird species many others. Once the chimpanzees are located you will be allowed to spend an hour observing them in their environment as they feed, play, fight, hunt, rest, observe their behaviors, take photos, and well as video capturing. After the one-hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park a home to known to view the diversity of animals, especially the unique tree-climbing lions. On the way, expect to enjoy spectacular views of the scenery, landscape and upon arrival in the park you will embark on an evening game drive where you will be rewarded with views of animals such as elephants, Uganda kobs, buffaloes, waterbucks, bushbucks, warthogs many others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Elephant hab –midrange or Pumba safari cottages-budget.

Day 5: Morning game drive/ optional lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast on day 5 of the 9 days Classic Uganda safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains. During the game drive you will be able to view different animal species such as elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks which will be grazing in open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, and hyenas on your lucky day as well as viewing early sunrise birds among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an interesting boat cruise on Kazinga channel a water channel that connects lake Edward and Lake George where you will be able to view a large number of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, view buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, waterbucks drinking water along the shores, view water bird species such as hornbills, cormorants, fish eagles, king fishers among others. After the boat ride you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On day 6 of the 9 days Classic Uganda safari, you will enjoy a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to drive to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have a stopover in the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park where you will be able to spot the famous tree-climbing lions while lazily lying up in acacia/ fig tree branches. After the game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will have lunch and then proceed the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park home to the world’s half-remaining endangered mountain gorillas in the wild. Arrive late evening and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven lodge-midrange or Buhoma Community rest camp-budget.

Day 7: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on day 7 of the 9 days classic Uganda safari, you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to drive to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and don’ts. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the midst of the jungle searching for mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located due to the search for food.
During trekking, you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species, and plants among others, and once the mountain gorillas are located, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos and record videos. After the one hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 8: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast on the eighth day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive to Lake Mburo National Park. On the way you will have an en-route lunch and enjoy beautiful views of the landscape, scenery, farmlands, countryside, and others. Upon arrival, you will embark on an evening game drive where you will be able to view different animals like buffaloes, oribi, waterbucks, giraffes, zebras, topi many others. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia cottages-midrange or Eagles nest lodge-budget.

Day 9: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 9 days Classic Uganda safari, you will enjoy relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge, and then meet up with your driver guide to head for a morning game drive where you will be able to watch animals that you might have missed to see the previous day. After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and set back to Kampala. On the wa,y you will have en-route lunch at the Equator, take photos, and buy craft souvenirs to take home. From the Equator, you will proceed to Kampala. Arrive early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport to catch up with your flight back home or drop you off at any place of convenience.
