The 1 Day Bwindi Gorilla Trekking Tour sounds to be a short safari tour package but carrying a great memorable and unforgettable experience of gorilla trekking. In a world which can be encountered in only three countries; Uganda referred to as ”the pearl of Africa”, Rwanda and DR. Congo.
Amazingly, Uganda is gifted with two gorilla national parks that stay; Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Forest National Park. In Rwanda – Volcanoes National Park and Virunga National Park in Congo. In the world, there are around 1070 individual Mountain gorillas and guest what half of the total remaining mountain gorillas are found in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.
Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is located in the southwestern region of Uganda and comprises four gorilla sectors where gorilla trekking is conducted every day of the year; Buhoma sector, Ruhija, Rushaga and Nkuringo sector. Currently, the park has over 23 habituated gorilla families/groups which can be reached either on gorilla trekking or gorilla habituation experience. Gorilla trekking includes an hour to spend with gorillas as you enjoy their amazing lifestyle. Gorilla Habituation Experience includes the 4 hours to spend with gorillas experiencing their behaviors, habits, and feeding as well as enjoying the perfect photography. This 1 Day Gorilla trekking can be started at the closest area/place to the park; areas like Kanungu, Kihihi, Kisoro and any other closest hotel /lodge to the park
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will be met by our guide who will pick you up from your hotel in Kihihi –Kanungu/ Kisoro at around 5:40 am and transfer to Bwindi National Park ”Buhoma sector”. Arrive at the park headquarters for a short briefing, then set off for the gorilla trekking experience –an activity which can take about 30 to 6 hours depending on their movement. The experience is a once in –a-lifetime adventure. The rangers will lead you deep into the forest in search of the gorilla group.
You will move up and down the rugged terrain until you finally meet these unique creatures whose company you will cherish in the jungle. Once gorillas are located, you will be allowed 1 hour to spend watching them as they play around, feed their younger ones, learn their lifestyle as well as enjoy taking memorable photographs for your future remembrance. After a great experience of the gorilla trek, you will hike back to the park headquarters to receive your reward of a gorilla certificate which shows you have achieved in gorilla trekking. Then after, reconnect with your guide and drive back to your hotel or any advised place.
