This 2 Days Mgahinga Golden Monkey Tour looks to be a short safari tour package but worth a visit to active primates well known as golden monkeys and many other species while on a visit here.
Take note that; Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is a gorgeous house for various mountain gorillas and golden monkeys among other thrilling activities like Batwa cultural tour. The trip starts and ends in Uganda ‘’the Pearl of Africa’’.
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park- 8 to 9 hours’ drive
Transfer to Bwindi: On your first day of the 2 Days Mgahinga Golden Monkey Tour, you will be picked up by our safari driver guide and brief you about the safari tour. You will then set off to Mgahinga National Park from Kigali via Cyanika border. Arrive at the park in time for lunch dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking -Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Golden Monkey Tracking: On your last day, you will enjoy breakfast and go for a briefing about golden monkey tracking rules and what to expect while in the Virunga volcanoes searching for these unique golden monkeys.
After briefing, you will start your hike up in search of the golden monkey’s species. If you have heavy luggage porters are available to help you at a small fee. You will be escorted by the park ranger guide who will lead you in search of these active golden monkeys.
On finding these troops of active golden monkeys – you will be allowed an hour with them. You will start following them as they feed on the bamboo shoots among other foods such as fruits, and vegetables as well as watching them as they swing on tree branches and enjoy memorable photo shoots. After, you will descend back to the starting point to meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to the lodge for lunch. Then after, transfer back to Kigali to be dropped to your hotel or any place of advice.
