Getting to Mgahinga gorilla national park 2022; Mgahinga gorilla national park is one of the most visited national parks in Uganda due to the fact that it harbors the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys. Mgahinga gorilla national park is located in southwestern part of Uganda in Kisoro district bordering with Volcanoes national park in Rwanda and Virunga national park in Democratic Republic of Congo.

Getting to Mgahinga gorilla national park by road transport means
When using road transport to access Mgahinga gorilla national park you will drive from Kampala or Entebbe which is the starting point of most safaris in Uganda and then drive through Masaka, Mbarara, Kabale, Kisoro and then to the park headquarters which takes about 9 to 10 hours’ drive in a 4WD safari vehicle.
Mgahinga gorilla national park can also be accessed from Kigali Rwanda where by tourists will fly to Kigali international airport and then connect to the park headquarters by road through Cyanika border in Kisoro which takes about 3 to 4 hours’ drive.
You can also access Mgahinga gorilla national park from Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive.
Mgahinga gorilla national park can also be accessed from Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive.
The park can also be accessed by public means of transport in that there are bus companies like Post bus, Jaguar bus, Bismarkan bus, Horizon bus among others which conduct daily trips from Kampala to Kisoro town and upon arrival in Kisoro you will hire a vehicle to the park headquarters because there are no public transport means to Ntebeko park headquarters. However we do not recommend use of public means pf transport to the park in that it’s tiresome, time consuming as the bus will be making stopovers along the way and not convenient hence we advise to use a trusted tour company like Achieve Global Safaris.

When using air transport means to access Mgahinga gorilla national park, you will book scheduled or charter domestic flights with Aero-link Uganda limited from Entebbe international airport or Kajjansi airfield to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrips and then connect to Ntebeko park headquarters by road. There are daily flights to Mgahinga gorilla national park which depart Entebbe international airport at 7:00am and arrive at Kisoro airstrip at 8:10 am while flights from the park depart at 8:25am at Kisoro airstrip daily and arrive at Entebbe international airport at 11:25am. There are only morning flights to the park due to the prevailing weather conditions. Using air transport means to access Mgahinga gorilla national park is the best option for tourists who don’t like driving long distance journey’s and domestic flights to the park can be arranged by your trusted tour operator.
