Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

Start the day early at 5:00 am, our English-speaking driver guide will pick you up at your hotel on Kigali after your delicious morning breakfast and head up to northwest Rwanda for a 2-hour drive to Volcanoes National Park, home to the remaining endangered mountain gorillas.

As you drive to access the park, you will have a chance to enjoy great views of rolling hills, landscapes and plantations of different crops that covers the hills with unique terraces.

At 7:30am, you will access the park office at Kinigi village for briefing about the gorilla trekking rules. After briefing, meet up with a local guide to lead you through forest trails in search for mountain gorillas. On finding them, you will be allowed an hour to spend with gorillas as you study about their behaviors, habits and enjoy taking memorable photography. Then after, you will walk back to the starting point to receive awarded gorilla certificate and then go meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to Kigali to be dropped off at the Airport or Hotel in Kigali.
