2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari

This 2 Days Rwanda Gorilla Safari takes you to the main stopping Centre for all Rwanda gorilla safaris that shelters the various endangered mountain gorillas in the Virunga Conservation area.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Ruhengeri / Musanze

Upon arrival, our representative will meet you at Kigali International airport or pick you up from your hotel in Kigali and enjoy a short brief tour of Kigali city including a visit to the local market and the Genocide memorial site. Later, set off to Volcanoes National Park and upon arrival, you will either connect to your lodge or go for an optional cultural tour to Ibyi’wacu Village which is positioned near the primate park. You will enjoy watching the dance and singing performances from the local intore dance troupe. Later drive to lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Da Vinci Lodge (Midrange)/ Virunga Inn resort and spa (Luxury).

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking Rwanda and Transfer Back to Kigali

After having breakfast, will be served early and lunch will be packed. Be driven to the park headquarters for the briefing of gorilla rules which starts at 7 am. Your guide will give you highlights of specific details about the way of life of the gorillas you will be tracking. The hike can take anything from one to six hours.

Trekking through the steep, bamboo slopes and then finally coming across the gorillas camouflaged in the vegetation is a privileged moment. On finding the gorillas, you are allowed to spend one hour with them as you stand about 7 meters away. Upon completion of this an amazing encounter, you will connect again with your driver guide and transfer back to Kigali arriving in the evening. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport or your hotel in Kigali.
