The national park is a home of different wildlife species including mammals, primates like the endangered mountain gorillas, golden monkeys, l’hoest monkeys and variety of bird species. Mgahinga gorilla national park harbors one habituated gorilla family Nyakagezi which is available for trekking on a daily basis.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 3 days Mgahinga gorilla national park safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Mgahinga gorilla national park.
It’s a full day journey to the park and on the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy stunning views of the landscape, beautiful scenery, terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, views of the countryside among others. Upon arrival in the park you will proceed to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Mgahinga gorilla trekking safari you will carry packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the starting point for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during trekking. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle with an experienced park guide who is knowledgeable about the gorillas and also conversant with gorilla trekking trails. During trekking which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours you will be able to view other primate species such as l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, different bird species, plants among others. Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment which gives you a chance to learn about their behaviors, habits, watch them feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari.
Day 3: Departure to Kampala
On the last day of the 3 days Mgahinga gorilla trekking safari you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey back to Kampala. on the way you will have en-route lunch in Mbarara and after continue the journey to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience depending on your schedule.
