3 Days Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey safari : This 3 days Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey safari is one of the short adventures that starts and ends in Kigali, Rwanda. The safari will take you to Volcanoes national park in Rwanda where you will get an opportunity to interact with the endangered mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their natural habitat. During the Rwanda safari you will also engage in Kigali city tour where you will be able to visit the Kigali genocise memorial site, craft shops among others.

Day 1: Pick up for the Kigali city tour and transfer to Volcanoes national park
Depending on your location in Kigali on the first day of the 3 days Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then go for a Kigali city tour where you will be able to visit the interesting Kigali genocide memorial site where you will be able to learn more about the 1994 genocide between the Tutsi and Hutus, visit the craft shops, markets, the kings palace among others.
After the Kigali city tour, you will have lunch in one of the restaurants in Kigali and then start the journey to Volcanoes national park which is located in northwestern part of Rwanda. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive and upon arrival you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes national park

After an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 days Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey safari, you will carry packed lunch and your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to park headquarters for a briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during trekking. After the briefing you will be sub divided in groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek and a park guide who is well conversant with trails in the jungle. Trekking of mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from place to place in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species like l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, view variety of forest birds, different plant species among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, playing, observe their behaviors, habits, take photos and record the breathtaking moments. After the one hour with the gorillas, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and transfer to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and departure to Kigali

After an early breakfast on the last day of the 3 days Rwanda gorilla and golden monkey safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to the park headquarters for a golden monkey briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle following trails of leftover bamboo shoots and leaves. Golden monkey trekking takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their location because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking you will be able to view other primates, birds among others and once the golden monkeys are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment which gives you a chance to watch them jump up in trees, watch them feed, play among others.
After the one hour with the gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch. After lunch you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kigali international airport for your departure flight or transfer to a hotel in Kigali.
