Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Samburu National Reserve
Start the day with an early morning departure, where you will be picked up at your hotel in Nairobi. Then, drive north toward the breathtaking Samburu National Reserve. Along the way, enjoy spectacular views of Mount Kenya and witness the landscape dotted with rich beauty.
On arrival at the reserve, check into your booked accommodation and have a delicious lunch. In the afternoon, head on your first game drive, where you will be able to see the Samburu’s unique wildlife, including Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, and the graceful gerenuk. Later, in the evening, return to the lodge for relaxing, dinner and a sleepover.
Day 2: Samburu National Reserve
Enjoy an early morning game drive to catch the sunrise and watch predators on the hunt. You will be able to spot big cats like lions, leopards, and cheetahs, making for a fan start to your day. Thereafter, connect to your lodge for a late breakfast. Take a guided nature walk to learn more about the reserve’s ecosystem.
Later in the afternoon, go explore the endless plains of Samburu. Expecting to see the ‘’Samburu Five’’ Grevy’s zebra, Somali ostrich, reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, and Beisa oryx, rare species found only in this region. You will also enjoy a unique cultural performance – the music and dances of the local Samburu people. Dinner and sleep over.
Day 3: Depart for Nairobi
Enjoy your delicious breakfast at the lodge before checking out and departing back to Nairobi. Arrive in Nairobi in the evening with great memories of Samburu’s beauty and iconic wildlife adventure. You will be dropped off at your hotel.
