Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park,
Depending on your location agreed on the first day of the 5 Days Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey and Mount Sabinyo Hiking Safari from Kigali, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. The journey is a whole day and on your way, you will have a stopover for en-route lunch where you will proceed the journey with gainful views of the beautiful landscape, scenery, terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, and local people among others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge, have dinner, and overnight stay at Lake Mulehe lodge-midrange or travelers rest hotel-budget.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 Days Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey and Mount Sabinyo Hiking Safari from Kigali, you will carry packed lunch boxes and then your driver guide will pick you up to drop you at the Ntebeko meeting center for a briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on the gorilla’s movements. During gorilla trekking, you will be able to view different numbers of bird species, plants, mammals, and other primates among others. Once the gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend an hour with them which helps you to learn about their behaviors, and habits, watch them carry out their daily activities such as feeding, take memorable photographs, and record the videos for your future remembrance. After an hour’s encounter with the mountain gorillas, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet your driver guide, and connect to your lodge for evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking
On day 3 of the 5 Days Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey and Mount Sabinyo Hiking Safari from Kigali, have a beautiful early breakfast on the third day of the safari, then go meet up with your driver guide to embark for a briefing about the rules and expectations of golden monkey trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle to look of the golden monkeys. During trekking, you will be able to watch different bird species, plants, and other primates among others. When finding them, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat which helps you to watch them jump up in trees, play, feed, learn more about their habits and behaviors, enjoy taking pictures and recording the incredible moments. After an hour’s encounter with the golden monkeys, return to the lodge for lunch where you will spend the rest of the day at leisure, as you get prepared for the next day’s activities. Have dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Hiking Mount Sabinyo
On the fourth day of the 5 Days Gorilla Trekking, Golden Monkey, and Mount Sabinyo Hiking Safari from Kigali, wake up early have a yummy breakfast – carry your packed lunch, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the meeting point for a briefing about the safety and guidelines to follow while hiking. Hiking Mount Sabinyo takes about 8 hours round trek depending on your level of fitness and during the hike, you will pass through different vegetation ranges, and enjoy rewarding views of primates, bird species, crater lakes many others. When you access the summit you will have endless views of the park, beautiful landscape, and scenery and you will also enjoy standing in three countries that is Uganda, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo. You will then start descending back to the starting point which takes about 4 hours. Upon arrival, you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 5: Departure to Kigali
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive back to Kigali. Arrive and our driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your onward flight or drop off at any place of your choice.
