Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
You will start your 5 Days Rwanda Gorillas, Golden Monkeys and Lake Kivu Holiday Tour with a visit to the genocide memory sites, where your guide will share insights into the country’s path to healing. The journey takes 2-hour drive northwest to Musanze, to gate way to the gorilla country. Around afternoon, you will go explore the Mayange Reconciliation village and showcasing the remarkable spirit of the Rwandan people. Connect to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up early have yummy breakfast, then drive to Kinigi at park headquarters of Volcanoes National Park, estimates 30 minutes from Musanze. Arrive have a short briefing, then after meet the ranger to allocate you to assigned gorilla family and trek can take 2 to 6 hours hiking through the misty forests of the Virunga to meet up gentle giants in their nature habitat. On meeting them, you will be allowed one hour to spend with them as you learn how they behave, play, feed as you enjoy taking photos among others.

Day 3: Golden Monkey Tracking in Volcanoes National Park
You will start your day with delicious breakfast at the lodge, after be driven to the starting point to be briefed about the golden monkey tracking rules. You will then, hike into bamboo forest trails with the help of the park ranger in search for these active monkeys. After you will hike back and be driven back to the lodge for lunch.
Later, go for a cultural experience at Iby’iwacu village, where local traditions give you live entertainment through dance and storytelling. The day ends with Rwanda customs. Back to the lodge for dinner and overnights.

Day 4: Leave Volcanoes National Park to Lake Kivu
On this day, after your breakfast, check out of the lodge and set off on a 3 journey from the Volcanic highlands to the shores of Lake Kivu in Gisenyi ‘’Rubavu’’. As you drive to Lake Kivu, have a stop at local schools and the historic imbabazi Orphanage, sharing stories of hope and resilience. In the evening, go for sunset boat ride on Lake Kivu’s crystal –clear waters, accompanied by traditional songs from local fishermen. Back to the lodge. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Lake Kivu Tour and Transfer to Kigali

You will visit the Genocide Memorial and Natural History Museum. End the safari with lunch at Hotel des Mille Collins before your departure, leaving you with lasting memories of this beautiful country. Then, you will be driven to your advised place or be dropped off at Kigali International Airport for your onward flight.
