Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport – Transfer to Hotel
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will drive through customs and immigration. You will be met by driver guide who will warmly welcome you to the ‘’Land of thousands of hills’’, making Rwanda a popular destination. Later, drive for dinner an overnight stay at the pre-booked hotel Des Mille Colline.

Day 2: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
Enjoy an early breakfast, followed by check out of your hotel and transfer to the Western province. As you drive to access the park, have a stop to visit the Royal Palace Museum and Ethnographic Museum in the Southern province. You will enjoy a great history of traditional ways of living among Rwandans and their past way of leadership of their kingdoms. Enjoy an en-route lunch. Arrive at the park in the afternoon and relax, and spend your leisure time with the hotel amenities. Dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking and Canopy Walk – Nyungwe Forest
On this day, after your early morning cup of African coffee, you will be picked up from your hotel to drive you to the park meeting center for the briefing about the chimps trekking rules. Nyungwe National Park is home to over 13 species of primates. After the briefing, take a walk into the forest to look out for great apes. Once you see them, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them.
After the chimpanzee trekking experience, drive back to the lodge to have a hot lunch before heading for a canopy walk. This 70-meter suspended metallic bridge will give you a unique view of the Nyungwe forest.
Then, on your lucky day, you can adventure a few more primates in the forests as you take a walk on the bridge. In the afternoon, drive back for dinner and an overnight stay at Nyumgwe Top View Hill Hotel.

Day 4: Colobus Monkey Trek and Tea Plantation Visit – Lake Kivu – Gisenyi
After breakfast, you will embark to the park and after head out into the forest in search of the colobus monkeys. Once you meet them, you will be allowed to take as many pictures as possible.
After a great encounter, return for lunch before check out. Continue on the tea plantation visit where you will go to the Gisakura Tea Gardens and learn how tea is planted, harvested, and processed. Enjoy taking beautiful photos. Later, drive to Lake Kivu with unique views of the countryside. Relax on arrival and prepare for the night fishing experience with the local fishermen of the community. Back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Paradis Malahide Hotel.

Day 5: Transfer Back to Kigali and Departure
After a delicious breakfast, you will head on a boat cruise on catch up with the brightening sunrise over Lake Kivu. The boat trip will allow you to explore the beautiful attractions within this great lake. The lake acts as a birding paradise as it hosts various bird species such as pied kingfisher, cormorants, weaver birds and heron among others. Later, drive back to Kigali with an en-route lunch. On arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at any place of your choice.
