6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour
The 6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour is Rwanda’s short safari tour package where you will visit Volcanoes National Park well known as a capital of mountain gorillas and golden monkeys among other primate species as well as a visit to Akagera National Park a home to all the big fives and many more other wildlife species. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park – Rwanda
On day 1 of the 6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour, you will meet your safari driver guide after your morning breakfast at the hotel in Kigali. You will be briefed about safari as you drive for the Kigali city tour where you will visit the genocide site, the presidential Museum, Kigali market, Kandt house, and thereafter, set off to Volcanoes National Park with en–route lunch. Arrive at the park, in the late afternoon. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking – Volcanoes National Park
On day 2 of the 6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour, you will enjoy early morning breakfast and then, transfer to the park headquarters with your packed lunch boxes and enough bottled drinking water for briefing. After the gorilla trekking briefing, you will start your gorilla trekking journey accompanied by skilled ranger guides in search of the mountain gorillas; this activity takes 2 to 7 hours depending on their location in their natural habitat.
However, the guides will try to find them from where they were last seen the previous day! On finding the assigned gorilla family, you will spend 1 hour with the gorillas and later return to your lodge or opt to visit Iby’iwachu cultural village in the evening to experience the Rwandese culture. Have dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Dian Fossey Trekking & Musanze Caves Tour
On day 3 of the 6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour, breakfast will be served early and drive back to the park headquarters. Be briefed and go for Dian Fossey trekking to her grave in Karisoke. The Dian Fossey trek is more challenging and can last 6 to 7 hours experience.
Later, you will return to the lodge for lunch and a short rest. In the afternoon; you will go for a tour of the Musanze caves with a ranger guide. Return to the lodge in the evening for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Golden Monkey tracking and Transfer to Kigali
On day 4 of the 6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour, after breakfast, you will be driven to the park headquarters for golden monkey tracking rules. The experience is rewarding where you will have to follow them as they swing on different tree branches, feed, and play among others. Golden monkeys are the most active creatures and are listed on the endangered list.
You will return to the lodge for lunch and after lunch, be transferred back to Kigali –Rwanda. If you didn’t make it for city tour on the first day – you will visit the craft village, Genocide memorials, and Kigali market among other amazing sites. Dinner and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Akagera National Park and Boat Cruise
On day 5 of the 6 Days Rwanda Safari Tour, you will enjoy breakfast in the heart of Kigali city and head on your 6 to 7-hour journey to Akagera National Park. Arrive at the perfect time for lunch at the lodge and later go for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Ihema where you will watch big game such as hippopotamuses, Crocodiles, and many bird species that live around the lake and the surrounding swamps. Later in the evening, head out for an evening game drive with great sightseeing of seeing the different animals that may be more active as the day ends.
Akagera National Park also stands as one of Africa’s conservation success stories as it recently completed the big five restorations with the introduction of the Rhinos in addition to the lions – all from South Africa.

Day 6: Airport Transfer and Departure
Today, depending on your flight time, you will depart Akagera and transfer to Kigali airport for your departure flight. This is a private tour; departure can be organized for any time throughout the year subject to the availability of accommodation and permits.
Gorilla and chimp permits reservation:
It is not possible to ‘reserve’ gorilla and chimpanzee permits. Therefore, we can only buy them after your booking and down payment and also it all depends on availability.
