Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival and Kigali City Tour
Arrival: Depending on your point of location in Kigali, our company driver guide will pick you up, and take you through a short briefing about 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Holiday Safari as you drive to Kigali City on a city tour. You will go to visit to the Kigali Genocide memorial grounds to learn about the historical information of the Rwanda 1994 genocide. Visit some authentic restaurants and enjoy tasting Rwandan food. Then afternoon hour, go visit the Kimironko markets where you will interact with the local people as well as purchase fresh vegetables and fruits. Return to your hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Transfer to Volcanoes: On day 2 of the 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Holiday Safari, have an early morning breakfast at the hotel in Kigali and thereafter, set off to Volcanoes National Park which covers a 2-hour drive from –Kigali. You will have a route visit to the Dian Fossey museum in Musanze where you will have a chance to discover the great effort of Dian Fossey – which she carried out at the research Centre by studying these unique mountain gorillas. Upon arrival at the park, check into your booked lodge rest, and later have lunch as you get ready for the next day’s activity. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Gorilla Trekking: Wake up early in the morning have a fantastic breakfast and pack lunch boxes. After, you will be driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about the dos and don’ts of mountain gorilla trekking. Then after, meet up with the park ranger guide who will group you in a group of eight people, according to your assigned gorilla family. Remember gorilla trekking experience can take about 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the gorilla family you will trekking or the location and weather. You will be accompanied by the park ranger in search of gorillas though you’re advised to carry useful essentials for perfect gorilla trekking like wearing comfortable rubber hiking shoes, rain jackets, warm clothes, energy-giving snacks, and mineral water bottles and others.
The moment you allocate the gorilla family, always follow the instructions given by the park ranger; always stay a distance of about 6 to 7 meters away from them. You will be allowed one hour to watch them as they survive in the forest, feed, play, behave, and build their nests high on the ground, enjoy memorable photography, and video capturing as well as enjoy your packed lunch. Generally, Gorilla trekking is an awe-inspiring experience. Trek back to the lodge and rest.

Cultural encounter; Later, after the gorilla trekking experience, you will go visit the most interesting cultural Centre -Iby’Iwacu where you will be able to enjoy their traditional dance and songs. Return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Golden monkey tracking –Volcanoes National Park
Golden Monkey Tracking: Have breakfast well served with delicious snacks, your driver guide will drive you to the meeting Centre in Kinigi for a briefing about the rules and regulations of golden monkey tracking. During your tracking experience, you will have a high chance of reaching where silver meets gold. You will hike into the forest looking out for gorillas.
On finding them, these are active primates who can be followed as they eat, and swing on different tree branches. Truly this activity is quite rewarding and memorable. When you’re done with the activity, walk back to the meeting point to meet up with the driver guide to drive you back to the lodge. Have dinner and overnight stay.

Day 5: Dian Fossey Hike – Volcanoes National Park
Dian Fossey Hike: On day 5 of the 7 Days Rwanda Gorilla and Wildlife Holiday Safari, you will wake up, and have leisure aroma coffee with delicious snacks. Afterward, be transferred to the park headquarters for a briefing on what to expect about the experience. Thereafter, you will drive to the starting point to start a beautiful hiking adventure to the tomb of the famous primatologist Dian Fossey who carried out a study on how mountain gorillas were to be habituated to get into contact with human beings.
Today, you meet up with these unique mountain gorillas in their nature inhabitant and because of the great works of Dian Fossey who built a research institute in Rwanda –Volcanoes National Park called Karisoke Research Centre. Karisoke Research Centre was built purposely for the study of these endangered mountain gorillas which have impacted a lot on Rwanda’s Tourism industry and the government at large.
After the activity, return back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
Mountain gorilla experience in the world can be done in only three countries; Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In Uganda, they can be trekked in two regional places – Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
In Rwanda, mountain gorillas can be found in Volcanoes National Park.
In Congo, gorillas can be encountered in Virunga National Park.

Day 6: Bisoke Hike and transfer to Gisenyi –Lake Kivu
Bisoke Hike: Wake up and get ready to drive to Mount Bisoke hike one of the 8 Virunga mountains and is among the 5 volcanoes to see inside in the park. After your breakfast, you will embark on a 1-day hike adventure on Mount Bisoke which takes between 4 to 5 hours to climb. If you make it to its summit, you will be able to enjoy a great view of the crater lake and the endless pains of Volcanoes National Park and others.
Later on, after a landmark adventure, you will hike back to the thrilling trailhead where your driver guide will be waiting for you. You will get back to your lodge –hotel in Gisenyi. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 7: Half-day exploration in Kivu/Depart back to Kigali
Half-day exploration in Kivu: After morning breakfast, drive to Lake Kivu where you will be excited at lots of bucket lists of activities, and enjoy the beautiful life around the beaches, and cool climate.
Sport fishing; Go for sport fishing in this freshwater lake where you can access a versatile range of fish species such as Blue-spotted tilapia, Nile tilapia, and Redbreast tilapia many more.
Boat cruise; You can choose to do a boat cruise where you will be able to visit different beautiful Islands on the lake such as Napoleon Island, and Amahoro Island as well as enjoy floating on the water and sighting countless scenic features.
Swimming; Lake Kivu is free from water bilharzia so, you can take a relaxing swim on a sunny chillaxing day.
Note; Visiting Lake Kivu, one can engage in several activities.
After engaging in different activities, you will depart back to Kigali to be dropped off at any advised place. End of the safari.
