Murchison Falls National Park is located in the Northwestern region of Uganda and covers an area of about 3,893 square kilometer and was established as a national park in 1952. The park is governed by the government body called ‘’UWA’’ Uganda Wildlife Authority.

Accessibility; The park is estimated about 4 to 5 hours drives from Kampala or Entebbe to the park. Alternatively, you can use a domestic flight Aero link Uganda from Entebbe International Airport to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip lands within 1:30 hours.

Generally, Murchison Falls National Park is known as the oldest and largest national park, a home where you can spot the Bigfours’’4’’, leaving out the Rhino that were re-introduced in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary by 2005. The park is bisected by the famous Victoria Nile ‘’River Nile’’ renown as the longest in the world and within the park it is divided into two parts; the Northern bank and the Southern bank.

There are three sessions – major schedules that us early morning, afternoon and evening game drives and the activity takes between 2 to 4 hours. However, morning session starts at 6:30 am, afternoon starts at 4pm and night game drive starts at 6:30pm and ends at 7:30pm in local time.

 Recommended Vehicle for Game drive;

One can be more comfortable on game drive when he uses a perfect vehicle with a pop-up roof in order to view the wildlife species and taking of clear memorable photos while on Uganda wildlife Safaris.  The vehicle must be a 4×4 wheel drive, this can be a Van, small or extended land cruiser. Other cars to be used include coaster for bigger groups, saloon cars many more. In the park one can do a self-drive though its must to hire an armed park ranger guide with you.
