Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Kigali city tour – transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On day 1 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Uganda Safari Tours, after breakfast, meet your driver and connect to Kigali city for a brief Kigali city tour where you will visit the Kandt Museum, Kimironko market, and the Kigali Genocide memorial site or all places depending on your time of arrival in Kigali. Late afternoon, drive to Volcanoes National Park. It is a 2 to 3 hours drive from Kigali city. Upon arrival, check into your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

Day 2: Golden monkey tracking – Ibya’cuwa village tour –Volcanoes National Park
On day 2 of the 7 Days Rwanda and Uganda Safari Tours, you will have early morning breakfast, head back to the park headquarters for a briefing about the golden monkeys, and be allocated to a group. You will enter the forest to look for the rare golden monkey accompanied by a skilled park ranger guide. This experience can take about 1-4 hours and as tracking in different trails – you will get to view other primates in the park like the red-tailed monkeys, Vervet monkeys among other. Once, they are found an hour will be allowed to study their amazing behaviors and swing around tree branches. Return to the base and meet up with your driver to drive you back to the lodge.
Later afternoon, go visit the Dian Fossey Museum in Musanze then drive to visit the Iby’wacu Cultural Village Non-Profit organization its aims are to improve the lives of reformed poachers and communities around Volcanoes National Park. Its impact is to support community enterprise development and livelihood-based projects. Iby’wacu is an exciting place where you will be guided around the place as you enjoy the Kinyarwanda traditions of‘’ Intore dance’’, traditional ceremonies, and a guided community walk. Then, connect to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at lodge.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Forest National Park via Cyanika border
You will have breakfast, followed by check-out of the lodge, and head on your journey to cross to Uganda via Cyanika border to connect to Bwindi impenetrable national park with en-route lunch and a visit to Lake Bunyonyi for a boat trip where you will be able to explore some of the 29 beautiful islands on the lake. Then after, proceed to your booked lodge in Bwindi for check-in, dinner, and overnight.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking Uganda – Batwa community tour
Wake up early morning, have breakfast, and drive to the park headquarters with your packed lunch for a briefing by the ranger guides and later walk into the forest for your trek. The trekking experience in Bwindi takes 2 to 6 hours depending on the movements of the gorillas in their natural habitat.
Once you locate them, you will spend an hour in their presence while enjoying your packed lunch as well as taking photographs for future remembrance.
If time allows, connect to visit the Batwa community that stays close to the park. The Batwa people are known as indigenous people of Uganda who stayed in the Forest before it was gazette as a national park. You shall enjoy their traditional songs and dance, listening to their interesting stories. Return to the lodge for refreshments, dinner, and overnight.

Day 5: Transfer to Kibale National Park
After breakfast, check out and drive to Kibale National Park, a journey which takes about 6-7 hours’ drive with an en-route stop for lunch and Queen Elizabeth National Park for a chance to adventure the tree climbing lions. Continue to Kibale National Park about 3 hour’s drive from Queen National Park. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6: Chimpanzee Trekking – Bigodi Swamp
After your heavy breakfast is served at the lodge, you will be transferred to the Kanyunchu for a briefing about Chimpanzee trekking rules.
Kibale Forest National Park ranks as one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee trekking safaris and has the highest number of primates with more than 13 primates.
Chimpanzee trekking can take 30 minutes and 4 hours to locate them. Once you find them, you will enjoy the way they swing from the branches in the canopy, and observe how they feed, play, and behave as you take memorable photography and capturing videos. After this gorgeous activity, drive back to the lodge for lunch and rest a bit.
Later, go for a walking safari visit around Bigodi Swamp a perfect place for primates and bird viewing. Dinner and overnight.

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe /Kampala
You will enjoy breakfast and transfer back to Entebbe with an en-route lunch. After lunch, continue a drive to another stop – the equator in Kayabwe where you will enjoy memorable photography and water experiments around the equator. Proceed to drive to Entebbe Intentional Airport for your flight departure back home. Marking the end of the safari.
